i did a couple of tests using the method i want to use, they definitely need some work, i think that they look a bit too erratic which isn’t what i want, i’m going to try some different techniques, like using the same vector image for the different frames.

Storyboards!
March 8, 2010so i finally go round to doing a rough storystory board for my piece, not sure if this is how it will end up as im not too keen on the way it ends but it will do for a starting point i guess.

Post Production
March 5, 2010When thinking of what i want this project to look like i looked at a few different examples where both film and animation have been used together in a style I like and would like to base my idea on.
This was the first video i looked at, i really like the bold outlines of the animated pieces and would love to include this style into my piece.
this second one starts with a video of a bottle the moves into animation, which is kind of what i want my piece to do. This piece also shows how I could go about animating the water. Hopefully i will be able to pull this off and it will look good. I have yet to story board it and really need to, i will do this tonight.

Post Production
February 18, 2010So this is my first post to do with post production techniques. I have unfortunately missed some of the practical classes for this project but i do have an idea. I want to experiment with compositing hand drawn animation into footage. I want to have a guy walk over to a fridge and get out a bottle of water or something and then when he pours it into the glass its hand drawn animated water i was then thinking that maybe he would keep pouring because he is fascinated by it, the water would spill out over the top of the glass and the fill up the room around him, he would then maybe drop the bottle and start splashing the water around. I think i kind of need to make up more of a storyline but im not too sure. I think i might film the guy and the split it into frames which i could then use to place where the hand drawn pieces will go. Im going to storyboard it soon.
